There are very few of what I would consider to be Christmas "classics" that have been recorded in my lifetime (Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You," off the top of my head, is one of the handful on the list) but Tom Petty's "Christmas All Over Again" definitely fits the bill.
First appearing on the 1992 compilation A Very Special Christmas 2, which was recorded to benefit the Special Olympics, the tune is one of the very best examples of rock 'n' roll meets the holidays - jingly, jangly, big-chorused and just as addicting as my grandmother's famous white cookies. And just like those cookies, it's a treat made that much sweeter by its appearance but once a year.
