Twitter is, in fact, proving to be a pretty effective means of communicating music news - it takes me about ten seconds to relay interesting things that hit my ears or inbox over the course of the day, so I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job keeping up. But if you aren't following, I'll do my best to compile stuff here when I get a chance:
- Theory 8 will release the debut 5-song EP from Shoot the Mountain on May 16, and the band will celebrate with a release show at the Basement that night.
- A second Death Cab For Cutie, Ra Ra Riot and Matt Costa show has been added to the Ryman schedule on May 3, the day prior to the sold out May 4 show. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, April 3 at 5 p.m.
- Nylon Magazine is planning a profile on local OtO faves The Features for their June/July issue.
- Parachute Musical is sneak-previewing their new Bandcamp page, where you can currently download their first album for free.
- Per the Nashville Scene, The Non-Commissioned Officers will be performing songs from the Make Out With Violence Official Soundtrack at the Mercy Lounge on April 23. More on this soon, and definitely more on the soundtrack (which is available now!) later this week - I'm trying to write a proper review since trust me, it deserves one.
- A recording of Ryan Adams and the Cardinals' March 15th peformance here in Nashville at the War Memorial is now available on Archive.org in flac, ogg or mp3 format. Reports from that show were great, so I believe it's worth picking up even if you weren't there in person.
There - you're all caught up. But if you'd like to hear about stuff in a more timely fashion, you can follow @outtheother
