Well, apparently someone caught wind of the fact that my 27th birthday is coming up in just two short months, and the musical powers that be decided to make September of 2008 a month-long birthday party for yours truly. Or not. :) But it sure does feel like it.
On top of the extravaganza that is Next Big Nashville (Sept. 10-14), September's already looking strong with The Felice Brothers (Sept. 18th) along with Dr. Dog and Delta Spirit (Sept. 7th) making appearances on the concert calendar. And now Reading, England's Does It Offend You, Yeah? have scheduled a stop in our fair city, for a Monday night dance party at 12th and Porter. Yeah, 12th and Porter's apparently starting to matter again. I was surprised too.
Anyway, it should be fun and crazy and a nice kickoff for the week of Next Big Nashville.
"Let's Make Out"
"Dawn of the Dead"
Does It Offend You, Yeah's album, You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into, is out now on Almost Gold. Make sure you pick up a copy before they come to town.
Wow. DIOYY is the *last* band I thought would ever come here. I'm there.
