So yesterday I had some sad record label news that I learned though MySpace - today I'll share the exact opposite.
Will Dailey, formerly of the Boston band Mappari, just announced that he signed with JS Music Group for his next album, to be released in early 2006. Will's work with Mappari and subsequent solo release, GoodbyeRedBullet, have earned him a spot in my list of favorite musicians - and his general awesomeness and appearances on my radio show in college made him one of my first rock star crushes. :) Hopefully this latest development means he'll be heading out on tour soon, and getting his butt down to Nashville.
Some day I'll convert one of his performances on my show to mp3, so you can all hear his and Kevin So's phenomenal spur-of-the-moment rendition of Tom Petty's "Won't Back Down."
"Rise"
"Don't Be Afraid (acoustic)"
"For Nothing"
"Let's Stay Together (live cover)"
"Patti P"
"Slow Her Down (String Mix)"
"Boomerang"
"Grand Opening"
