Playlist - August 4

Argh, I was hoping that this would be a temporary thing - which is why I've been postponing posting the playlist this week - but it looks like the archive of Monday's show is MIA.  I'm still crossing my fingers that it will show up, but in the meantime you're going to have to make do with a playlist and a bunch of mp3s.

Monday's guest was Steve Haruch, the music editor of the Nashville Scene, and it's a damn shame that you can't listen to the show in its entirety right now because it kicked ass.  We stuck to the '90s theme throughout the whole darn thing, and not only did Steve introduce me (and probably a few of the listeners) to some stuff I was completely unfamiliar with, but he also brought some gems that I'm sure haven't seen the airwaves in a few years.  If he didn't convince you that he's going to make a great and knowledgeable music editor over there at the Scene... well, we'll just have to have him back on the show!

Remember, you can keep up with Steve's writing and editing over at the Nashville Scene website, and on their music blog the Nashville Cream.

Time to tease you with the playlist, fortunately there are a few mp3s tucked in there as well:

1.  East River Pipe - King of Nothing Never (The Gasoline Age)
2.  Number One Cup - Malcom's X-Ray Picnic (Kim Chee Is Cabbage) (mp3)
3.  Grandrapids - Song 18 (Symphony For Heartbreak:  US Pop Life Vol. 9, Seattle-Portland) (mp3)

8.  Death Cab For Cutie - Pictures In an Exhibition (Something About Airplanes)
9.  Neutral Milk Hotel - Everything Is (Everything Is 7")
10.  Unbunny - Glacier (Black Strawberries)
11.  Spent - Brewster Station (Songs of Drinking and Rebellion)
