Who's playing Nashville this month?

I tend to go around and around and back and forth with the show listings - while you can always find a concert calendar in the right-hand column of this site (it's not comprehensive, but it's the stuff I think you might be interested in), I've gone through different phases of sharing that info with you on the blog proper.  It used to be a weekly thing, but lately I've been reading the calendar on the show every Saturday, so I've gotten out of the habit of typing it up as well.

But a lot of times there are shows out in the future that I think you should be aware of, and if you aren't religiously stalking the concert calendar, I need to do a better job giving you a heads up, don't you think?  So starting today, at the beginning of every month you'll get a nice little list of everything hitting Nashville in the month ahead (at least everything I currently have on the calendar), plus things a bit further in the future that you might want to pencil in.

So who's playing Nashville in April?  As it turns out, a BUNCH of great acts.  I'm particularly  excited about The Felice Brothers this Thursday at Mercy Lounge, the kick-ass trio of The Howlies, Hotpipes and And the Relatives at the Basement on April 12, and Grimey's and the Basment's outdoor sale and party celebrating Record Store Day on April 19.  You'll be hearing more about those from me soon, plus more about the New Pornographers with Okkervil River show coming to the Cannery Ballroom on April 18 - because I'm going to be giving away a pair of tickets when we get closer to that date!
