Playlist - April 5
The votes were in on Saturday, and the winner of the coveted featured album of the week slot was none other than Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin's Pershing, which is actually out today on Polyvinyl. I got the chance to play three songs over the course of the hour, which should give you a nice little preview before you run out and pick up your own copy (which you should, because the album is great). Go ahead:
Stream the April 5 edition of Out the Other
And fear not if you really wanted to check out more of the new Black Keys record, because I'm going to be taking a look at Attack & Release right here on the blog, along with the rest of the albums that I sampled back in February in the Anticipation Mix.
One friendly reminder before we get to the playlist - next Saturday I'm going to have a few special guests on the show - local boys Pico vs. Island Trees will be joining me in the studio for the hour. We've been trying to make this happen for a little while now, so I'm SUPER psyched to finally get them on Out the Other. I will most definitely be reminding you later on this week.
And here's the playlist:
1. Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin - Modern Mystery (Pershing)
2. The Black Keys - Same Old Thing (Attack & Release)
3. The Wombats - Kill the Director (The Wombats EP)
4. Man Man - Mister Jung Stuffed (Rabbit Habits)
5. Tapes 'n' Tapes - Hang Them All (Walk It Off)
