Happy 2008!

Okay, I'm back.  What started off as a few days of post-less slacking turned into a full-blown blogging vacation - the longest I've been away from this site since I started it almost three years ago now.  But you gotta do what you gotta do, and sometimes that means taking a break from something you love because everything else deserves a little more attention (and because you deserve a little break at the end of the day).  Besides, you were already overwhelmed by the December best-of-athon, weren't you?

That said, I'm going to slowly (but surely) resume recapping 2007, with my countdown of favorite songs, a few of my favorite albums (I'll warn you, I'm still VERY indecisive on that front), and probably a few of my favorite shows as well.  I did see 189 different bands in 2007 after all, and more than a few of them deserve another mention in case they show up in your neck of the woods in 2008.
