October 20 show preview - win Spoon tickets!

I know I haven't done one of these in a while, but tomorrow's show is worthy of a preview - first because it's going to be a super extended Out the Other - from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and second because I'm giving away Spoon tickets!
I'm filling in for Mitch from 10 - noon tomorrow, which is why I have the extra two hours. I'm going to use the bonus time to just play a bunch of goodies I don't really get the opportunity to play on the show, and I promise it will be GREAT. I've been really digging into the archives and have some great tunes lined up, plus I'll probably be taking a few requests if you want to call in at (615)421-ROCK. It will be worth waking up for.
Then when noon hits, we'll be back to regularly scheduled programming and a regular hour-long edition of Out the Other, taking a look at the week ahead. I have some treats for this hour as well - most notably a free pair of tickets to see Spoon at the Cannery Ballroom next Friday, October 26th. You'll have to listen to win, because I'll be giving the tickets to the third person who calls in when I play a Spoon track from Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. I won't tell you when that will be - just sometime between noon and 1 p.m. (though I'll probably warn you on-air before I play the block of songs that includes Spoon).
Also on the regular show, the featured album of the week is Phosphorescent's Pride, which I'm head over heels in love with. We'll hear three tracks off of the record so you can fall in love just like me, and then we can all go see Phosphorescent at The Boro down in Murfreesboro on November 2. Plus, I'll have more tunes from bands in town this week, including a BRAND new demo by Hotpipes, who are playing tomorrow night at 3 Crow Bar with The Howlies.
Tune in at 10 a.m. tomorrow! And DEFINITELY tune in at noon if you want to see Spoon for free!

I too am deeply deeply in love with the new Phosphorescent album, Grand Palace got a promo of it and it's all I have been listening to while we sell the day's two or three records. Keep promoting that show, cuz i think a certain flatmate of mine needs some Nashville love for getting them to come.

I wrote about you today, but had no idea it was you. The Boyfriend and I heard your show on the way to brunch, and we talked about how great you were. I usually hate hearing WRVU djs. They make my ears hurt. But I loved Phospherescent and your love of them made me adore them even more.
