Go see some bands this week!
Okay there is a LOT going on this week - I thought things were going to be relatively quiet, but in reality, there's something worth checking out every single night. My two picks are absolutely Menomena on Wednesday (both at Grimey's at 6 p.m. and then later that night at Exit/In) and Phosphorescent down at The Boro on Friday - and I plan on reminding you about both of those later this week.
First up though, you should seriously consider checking out tonight's Halloween-themed 8 off 8th, it's free, which you can't really argue with, and kicks off at 9 p.m. There are also a few other shows worth venturing out for this week - particularly The Whigs and The Broken West @ Exit/In on Tuesday and The Black Angels @ Exit/In on Thursday. I've seen both bands before and can recommend both of them if you're thinking of heading out.
