Like many, many other people (kids, adults, and I'm sure music bloggers alike), I spent a good chunk of my weekend with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final book in the Harry Potter series. I actually finished it yesterday afternoon, even though I didn't expect to get through it that quickly, because once I got about two hundred pages in I lost the ability to set the book down. It's certainly one of the best books I've read this year, and as number twenty-two it has some stiff competition.
I won't tell you a single thing that happens, but if you've read the book, I'd love to know what you thought. Today's mini-mix has a little (spoiler-free) Deathly Hallows theme:
Wheat - "Be Brave" (from Hope and Adams)
Nick Drake - "Magic" (from Made to Love Magic)
The Rakes - "On a Mission" (from Ten New Messages)
Bat For Lashes - "The Wizard" (from Fur & Gold)
Cloud Cult - "What Comes At the End" (from Advice From the Happy Hippopotamus)

By now I guess everybody has already read the book. Amazing.. that one. I am surprised that nobody has commented on your pick mix for it. Yes, i can totally relate. The book is dark, fascinating and knows how to look back at its roots. Listening to your choices I could just imagine the movie. Awesome...

I finished the book last night after a good 4 hour stretch of just not being able to put it down. it was fantastic! i felt like the kid reading "a never ending story." i was actually vocalizing my rising concern for the characters as the story went on, at one my boyfriend actually asked me if everything was ok when i let out the a rather colorful expletive! can't wait to give a listen to your mini soundtrack. maybe it'll ease me out of my mourning. long live dumbledore's army!!
