The more previews I write, the more I realize that musical ability really is a genetic trait. Add Robyn Ludwick to the list of musicians coming from talented families - as the sister of Charlie and Bruce Robison, she is only now beginning to admit on stage that she was raised in such good company. Although Ludwick has appeared on several of her brothers' releases, the singer/songwriter has been determined to blaze her own distinct path in the music world, and with her 2005 debut, For So Long, she seems to have done just that. Produced by multi-instrumentalist Danny Barnes, the album features 13 original songs written by Ludwick, accompanied by Barnes on banjo, mandolin and guitar. The resulting blend of Americana, country and bluegrass proves that Ludwick has more to offer than just the family name.
